    Lunchbox's March 2011 Ban-list Predictions

Post by Lunchbox on Tue Feb 15, 2011 2:59 pm

Its that time again for a new ban-list. What do you hope to see banned? What do you want to see limited and semi-limited? I predict this will happen.

    Here are my predictions,

    Banned

    Mind Control

    Cold Wave

    Limited

    Dark Strike Fighter

    Rescue Cat

    Debris Dragon

    Pot Of Duality

    Solemn Warning

    Heavy Storm

    Mystical Space Typhoon

    Caius The Shadow Monarch

    Chimeratech Fortress Dragon

    Brain Control

    Semi-Limited

    Gateway of the Six

    Black Whirlwind

    Xx-Saber Faultroll

    Xx-Saber Fulhelmknight

    Destiny Draw

    Royal Tribute

    Black Rose Dragon

    Emergency Teleport

    Necro Gardna

    Wulf, Lightsworn Beast

    Mezuki

    Six Samurai United

This is just my predictions, this is NOT THE LEGIT MARCH 2011 BANNED LIST!!!

Reasonings aka my opinions on some of the cards I put on the list:
    Banned:
Mind Control: If you look at it in a different angle its actually pretty broken. You can even take a face down card from your opponents side of the field and just flip it and synchro summon.

Cold Wave: This card sets up a lot of OTKs (One Turn Kills). This card should have been banned last format.

    Limited:
Dark Strike Fighter: I personally think that this card will be fine at 1. This card can win games but at 1 it can easily get Bottomless Trap Holed and you won't see that card again until your next match. Or even Solemn Judgmented or Warninged. I think running 1 will be ok.

Rescue Cat: With Semi-Limiting Faultroll and Fulhelmknight this card would give them a little boost and/or other decks running with Rescue Cat. I saw this video on Youtube and he said that almost every deck as that broken combo. For example, Blackwings with their Vayu and their graveyard synchro summoning. Lightsworns and their milling and there Lumina. Sabers was with their Rescue Cat. ETC.

Debris Dragon: I was thinking about touching Dandylion, but decided to touch Debris. With its crazy combos and special summoning level 3s or whatever. Should be limited,

Heavy Storm: I think this card should comeback because now since this card is banned so many people are setting up their back row with traps without any care because they know we can't use Heavy Storm. Please comeback.

Brain Control: With the banning of Mind Control I thought aboud adding Brain Control back. I see this card a lot better then Mind Control and less broken. Personally I don't see this card as a broken card. You pay 800 life points, ok thats good. You can Book Of Moon the monster that your opponent brain controlled so he/she can't synchro summon/attack etc. I personally think its a pretty fair card.

    Semi-Limited:
Gateway Of The Six: I can see this card semi-limited. With this card coming to two it doesn't kill the Six Samurai deck. With two you can still destroy but it makes it a little more fair. Konami obviously won't kill Six Sams because they want people to try out their new cards. Look at Blackwings when they first came out, they were so damn good. Then you see Black Whirlwind go from 3 to 2 to 1. But Blackwings are still really really good and a top tier deck with Black Whirlwind at 1.

Black Whirlwind: If they don't touch Gateway Of The Six then I want to see this card go back to at least 2. Black Whirlwind is like Gateway Of The Six but Gateway is 5x better. Enough Said. I think bringing Black Whirlwind back to 2 won't hurt anyone and gives Blackwings a little more support since all the new support Blackwings are getting are all trash. The most recent Blackwing support card that I think is "ok" is Breeze and thats it.

Necro Gardna: The reason why I put this card at semi-limited is because I haven't seen Lightsworns do a lot recently. Yes their a real good top tier deck but you know what I mean. There a very aggressive deck but not really much defense. Necro Gardna at 2 would help them a little.

Wulf, Lightsworn Beast:With putting Necro Gardna to semi-limited I had to put this card to semi-limited because people with Lightsworn decks most of the time are winning because they get that lucky mill with Wulf and putting it at 2 still gives the Lightsworn user a chance to mill Wulf but at the same time it takes away some of the consistency of milling a Wulf.

Mezuki:Yes I said it, Mezuki! Zombies are dead (No pun intended) They were a very competitive deck until Konami destroyed them. This gives them a little boost. I want to see some Zombie decks comeback.

Hope you enjoyed this, please give your thoughts on my predictions and tell me yours.

darksoul and faultrolk- limited this will fix the most broken archtype ever
im with you on limiting caius and PoD but leave brain control banned, its the same as mind control with a little cost and the monster can attack and be tributed!
as much i would like rescue cat for my beast deck, its need to stay where he is along with dark strike. i think some six sam card-like gateway should be limited cuz when the new sam will come they will be to stronge! mezuki need to return to semi, zombies need to be back
black whirlwind and infernity launcher should be semi, a little help to the archtypes. lonefire blossom need to be on 1, he can summon 2800 atk beatstick with target negating effect, summon dandy for a killer combos
or just summon giga to summon another giga to summon tyt.

Blossom is just another Cat, so the whole idea about it needs to be rethought about it, just like Sabers waiting to top Cat almost all Dandy decks are waiting on blossom, in MY opinion, any deck ANY deck that can change the game and OTK at the same time by toping a card needs to be rethought.

I can turn the tables with a topdeck no matter what deck i run ._.

But yeah, i have been supporting the idea of blossom getting limited. Fills your grave for poa and can be recycled by it. Target for debris, brings out a free beetstick, searches dandylion... broken enough.

I don't want to see it getting limited though ;3

    Banned

Mind Control - Not broken or used enough to get a ban
Cold Wave - A lot of people dislike it because it gives a lot of pluses with BRD, but it won't get banned because it's really not that great of a card unless you use it with plants and sabers, and those two decks will get hit in other places.

    Limited

Dark Strike Fighter - Not even in your wildest dreams. Especially with six sam out.
Rescue Cat - If this ever does come out of the banlist it won't be any time soon.
    Debris Dragon - Agreed
Pot Of Duality - Not broken enough for a limit, semi at best.
Solemn Warning - Same as pot
Heavy Storm - I could see this coming back, but I doubt it.
Mystical Space Typhoon - If storm comes back, yes. If not I can see it getting unlimited.
Caius The Shadow Monarch - Not enough of a factor in the meta to get a ban.
Chimeratech Fortress Dragon - Who cares
Brain Control - Not coming back for a while.

    Semi-Limited

Gateway of the Six - Agreed
Black Whirlwind - Too broken to ever be back at 2 or more.
    Xx-Saber Faultroll - Naw..
Xx-Saber Fulhelmknight - Maybe? Doubt it.
Destiny Draw - Naw, D-Hero engine is outdated. If it comes back nobody will play it until those vision heroes and crap are released here.
Royal Tribute - I see this limited
Black Rose Dragon - This is either getting limited again or not touched. If you are running three of these to begin with then you should go look at your decks and do some major overhauling.
Emergency Teleport - Meh, if you think tele-dad will come back it could happen, but I don't think it'll be competitive anymore.
Necro Gardna - Too broken with LS.
Wulf, Lightsworn Beast - Not broken enough to even be in the conversation.
Mezuki - With brio at one, zombies are meh now.
    Six Samurai United - Maybe

Here's some key cards that will probably get hit.

Forbidden: Nothing, if anything something that came out last format like Reborn

    Limited: Debris, Darksoul, Necrovalley

Semi-Limited: Shura, Faultroll, Gateway, Oppression, Dustshoot 8D

Unlimited: MST, Bth, Snipe Hunter, Mind Crush 8D

I heard they might semi-limit Necrovalley but I doubt it. I also heard that they might put Mystical Space Typhoon to 3 but I don't yet. We'll have to see.

If that list is legit and Kalut is limited I am going to be so pissed.

    Wow...

If Konami is doing that to Kalut then I really don't know why they keep hurting Blackwings legit. Haven't they got hurt enough? What about Glads or Lightsworns or Six Sams? Why not them -_-. Sorry in a complaining mood now.

Anyway on another note, I will only believe a confirmed list on March 1st 2011. I suggest you guys do to.

The list was in V-Jump. So it was confirmed on sites like Pojo after translated. Usually the list does change a little in the TCG release but generally they follow the same trend. Unless Konami makes additions, they wont hit X-Sabers because in the OCG they don't have Darksoul or Boggart.
