    no

coz i think u need to activare a counter trap(type) while trap stun is normal trap

not sure about that tho but thats my opinion

To summon Van'dalgyon to clearly says on the card you have to activate a counter trap and it has to negate the activation of your opponents card (s) or effects . It can only be summon by a counter trap not a normal trap.

And also if your asking if your opponents activates a counter trap and you trap stun it you can't since counter traps are speed spell 3 and trap stun is speed spell 2. So you wouldn't be able to negate a counter trap with trap stun. And Van'dalgyon would be summoned if that was the situation.

And if it's a normal trap and they try to summon Van'dalgyon that is invalid since you need to activate a counter trap to special summon it.

Another thing would be trying to activate a counter trap card after a previous Trap stun had already resolved, in which case your counter trap card will be negated since Trap stun is a lingering effect and thus not effected by Spell speed rulings.

Yeah, like everyone said, VandalGyon summoning condition are only active when u sucessfully Negate a Card Using "Counter Trap"... Other than that way, u cannot special summoning it although u sucessfully negate an activation card with another card like trap stun (Cus trap stun are not a counter trap) Very Happy...

    Quote from Van'Dalgyon's effect :

"After a Counter Trap Card you control negates the activation of an opponent's card(s) or effect(s), you can Special Summon this card from your hand."

    'Nuff said

Also, even if you COULD special summon Van'Dalgyon with normal Trap Cards, Van'Dalgyon wouldn't be special summoned with Trap Stun/Royal Decree, since his effect states "...negates the activation...". Trap Stun and Royal Decree negate THE EFFECTS of Trap Cards. While Trap Stun or Royal Decree are activated, you can still ACTIVATE Trap Cards, but their effects will be negated. So that's why you wouldn't be able to summon him anyways.
