I was talking to iCarly on MSN, and she suggested I just do random articles about random stuff. It doesn't have to be yugioh related, and maybe it will entertain you guys. I figured I'd take her up on her suggestion and try to write something every now and then that you guys will enjoy, and is actually article-like..
I saw the trailer for Iron Man 2, and I have to say it looks bad ass. If you haven't checked it out you know good old DJD will take care of you, and for your viewing pleasure here it is:
One of the most awesome things about it, for me, is the fact that if I told you five years ago that there was going to be a big summer block buster that cost hundreds of millions of dollars to make, and will probably break The Dark Knight's box office record (which I think it will btw), and it was starring Robert Downey Jr. and Mickey Rourke you would've thought it was crazy. It's amazing to me how both these guys have made such tremendous come backs, and now they're both going to be starring along side each other in this new Iron Man movie.
One of the things I liked about the original Iron Man, and one of the things that it looks like I'm going to like about this sequel to Iron Man, is that it's intelligent without being heavy and pretentious. I'm in a point in my life where I'm a bit disillusioned with film as a media so for me to be genuinely excited about something that's going to be playing in a theater near me for the first time in months is a good thing. I hate movies like Transformers, GI Joe, and 2012 because they have these mind-blowing special effects, but the plots of these films basically just exist as thinly veiled presences to show off what people can accomplish with special effects.
The same way that a guy with a small penis would buy an incredibly large hulking vehicle, and guns to try to compensate for his inadequacy, Hollywood does the same thing with these movies. They use incredible special effects to compensate for the lack of a story, the lack of a heart. They just put a bunch of special effects in there, and hope that no one will notice. That's not what the first Iron Man did, and it looks like it's not what this new Iron Man does. It actually uses the special effects to enhance the story, to compliment the story, rather than distract you from the fact that it's lacking one.
