LaDD vs Field Spell

Condition : i HAVE ladd on my field

and my opp use a field card (example umi)

what will LaDD do nothing or negate ?

since LaDD not destroy any card

people told me b4, LaDD cannot negate field spell card but i am not sure >.<

“Light and Darkness Dragon” cannot negate the activation of the Ignition-like effect of Continuous Spell or Trap Cards (“Ultimate Offering”, etc.) or Field Spell Cards (“Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins”, etc.). “Light and Darkness Dragon's” second effect activates when a Spell or Trap Card is first activated (placed face-up onto the field or flipped face-up).

I think this is the answer about your question.

i think LADD's second effect are only negate the activation of spell and the other card effect.... so spell field can be negated by LADD if its active after LADD was summoned and is on the field... But, if the spell field activate before LADD summoned, so then its ignition effect are still works and cannot be negated by LADDs second effect....

if rainbow ruins are in Your field before LADD, so u still can activate its 4th effect to draw 1 card.....

Now, let's say I activate a continuous spell or trap card when Light and Darkness Dragon is face-up on the field.

1) Would the card be negated and sit there doing nothing?

2) Would it be sent to the graveyard?

So im guessing if you activate (place field spell face-up) on the field while Ladd is on the field it will be negated and sent to the graveyard. BUT if the field spell is already on the field before ladd hits the field, then you will be able to use the eff of the field spell/continuous spell/trap. and ladd wont negate it.

LaDD can negate continuous trap cards and field spell cards while they are activated.
If they are already activated any ignition effects that may be activated by those continuous // field spell cards cannot be negated by LaDD.

When “Light and Darkness Dragon” negates the activation of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card, the Continuous Spell or Trap Card is sent to the Graveyard. When “Light and Darkness Dragon” negates the activation of “Swords of Revealing Light”, the “Swords of Revealing Light” is sent to the Graveyard.[1]

I think the same goes for Field Spell cards.

They key thing to notice in negation cards is what its negating. There is three ways you can negate a card:

-Negate the activation of a card.
-Negate the effect of a card.
-Negate the summon of a card.

All 3 different ways will work differently depending on the card you are using to negate. In this case, Light and Darkness Dragon does the first: "...that activation is negated..." by negating the activation of a card is like negating the summon of a monster. It is as if the card never made it to the field and suddenly appears in the graveyard. When a field spell is activated it does not escape the negation of its activation and will be sent to the Graveyard instead of being placed on the field. When negating the activation of a card the type of effect it has is irrelevant.
